A little more about me:
Music has always been a significant part of my life. From a very young age, I knew that in one way or another I would always be involved in music. I attended Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio for my undergraduate studies, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Vocal Performance and Business. Upon graduation in 2010, I happened upon a job opportunity at a local community school in Ohio, where I helped teach GED preparation classes for adults. It was then that I discovered my true passion for teaching. I must admit that as I revealed my intentions to begin a Master's in Music Education, my family, friends and previous professors simply laughed and told me they had all wondered when I would figure it out.
My years studying my Masters in Music at Colorado State University were incredible. Each class further confirmed my desire to become a music teacher. I was very fortunate to have been offered a Graduate Teaching position for the Music Education Department, which provided me with numerous leadership experiences and opportunities to teach throughout my own studies. I was thrilled to work as the assistant director for both CSU's Concert Choir and Men's Choir, and learned quite a bit about the rehearsal process and responsibilities required to lead a choir.
I am thrilled to have begun my teaching career at Valley High School and Gilcrest Elementary School in Weld RE-1. I am the choral director at the high school, as well as general music teacher at one of the elementary schools. I have had an incredible first few years teaching. It has truly humbled me to witness and be a part of the huge growth these students have made over the past few years. For more information, feel free to visit my school website, intended to inform students and parents as to the objectives being taught each week. missmarshallmusic.weebly.com
Feel free to explore my site for my teaching philosophy, teaching experience, interests, resume and more!
Enjoy!
